The Talent, a short film by Second Name Productions, distributed by Premium films, and written and directed by Thomas May Bailey in his short film debut, is now available to watch worldwide. The short film stars Emma D’Arcy (House of the Dragon, Mothering Sunday) and follows an assistant on the set of a luxury car commercial who seizes the chance to get noticed by the star, played by Leo Suter (Vikings: Valhalla, Sanditon).
The Talent was nominated for Best British Short at the 2023 BIFAs, and has screened in competition at Clermont-Ferrand 2024 (France), Hollyshorts 2024 (USA) Busan International SFF 2024 (South Korea), Palm Springs ShortFest 2024 (USA), deadCenter FF 2024 (USA), ShortShorts FF 2024 (Japan) and Manhattan Short 2024.
“I’m really excited that the short is finally available everywhere in one form or another,” said May Bailey, “Distribution has been a balancing act — wanting as many people as possible to see the short, while also wanting to recuperate some of the project’s costs, and keep some financial momentum for the next thing. We’re pretty happy with how things have ended up, a combo of VOD, streaming and free access through libraries.”
The Talent is available everywhere via Vimeo on Demand and is also streaming on Disney+ in Europe, Canal+ in France and Kanopy via participating libraries.
