EXCLUSIVE: First look stills and BTS from ‘Mine For A Moment’ by Kristian Lever

26 October 2026 | By Molly Lipson

Mine For A Moment, director Kristian Lever’s latest short, follows Cheryl (Gina Fillingham), a nurse struggling with years of unsuccessful attempts to become a mother. After another miscarriage, having pretended to her husband who works offshore that she’s pregnant, she disguises herself as a nurse, enters a maternity ward and takes a newborn baby. Through Cheryl’s journey of grief and pain, that takes a terrible turn, we’re forced to question the complex space between empathy and moral judgement.

The film recently won Best International at LA Shorts International Film Festival, qualifying it for Academy Awards consideration, as well as Best Short Film at the BAFTA-qualifying Carmarthen Bay Film Festival. It was also an Official Selection at Flickers’ Rhode Island International Film Festival.

Here’s an exclusive first look stills from the film and behind the scenes of making it.
