Dimitry Everdeen, Sam Mac, Adam Broomfield-Strawn and Yves Rassou round up the cast for Greenlight.

Greenlight, the second short from London-based New Zealand writer-director Nara Toktoshova (Friendship Was a Safe Bet), centres around Igor, a recent immigrant and engineer at a fast-growing London delivery startup. When the higher ups in the company start removing safeguards from Igor’s codes and secure political leverage to delay worker rights’ bills, he finds himself trapped between his conscience and the people who control his future.

"It aims to present this ecosystem as it truly feels: high-speed, high-stakes, and morally grey," says Toktoshova. "At its core, this is a story about systems that fail to protect the most vulnerable, and about how responsibility is increasingly shifted away from corporations and onto individuals."

The short has cast Dmitry Everdeen as lead character Igor and Sam Mac as Rob, the startup's CEO and co-founder, described as someone, "the audience likes for slightly longer than they should."

Joining them are Nishad More as Sam, the startup’s CTO and co-founder, Yves Rassou as Kate, and Adam Broomfield-Strawn as MP Josh Knight.

Greenlight is produced by Alex Preston, whose recent credits include Guardian Angel/I (2024), Sex Lives (2022) and Hoax (2017). The key crew includes DoP Helena González, editor Fred Ribergaard, composer Tom Redburn, and Joe Vince handling sound recording, design and mix. Nicole Ricciardi is the casting director, with Ruslan Barenboym as executive producer.

Principal photography is scheduled for late September.
