Winter Dunn’s ‘Play Hard’, starring musician DSmoke, is Now Streaming Worldwide on Vimeo After Being Selected as a Staff Pick

Play Hard, a short film executive produced by Lena Waithe’s Hillman Grad, alongside 271 Films and Indeed, has been released worldwide on Vimeo after being selected as a Staff Pick.

The film follows a workaholic musician, played by Daniel "DSmoke" Farris (Rhythm+Flow), whose chance encounter with a modern dancer, played by Alexis Floyd (Grey's Anatomy, Inventing Anna), shakes his view of the world.

Play Hard premiered at Tribeca in 2024 before heading to a selection of festivals including HollyShorts and the Palm Springs International Short Fest, Martha’s Vineyard African American Film Festival and it will screen at the New Orleans Film Festival later this year.

The short was also released in the U.S. on Hulu and Kanopy this May.
