EXCLUSIVE: First look stills at Nieves Garcia Perchin’s short ‘You're Not Well’
07 September 2026 | By Natalia AlbinWritten by Jamison Bruce Anthony and directed by Nieves Garcia Perchin, You’re Not Well follows Eileen, a young woman who loses her job and finds comfort in listening to a podcast — comfort that slowly turns into an obsession jeopardising her career and her relationships.
Garcia Perchin is an NYC-based award-winning filmmaker from Madrid who works as both a director and a script supervisor. Her short films have screened at the likes of Flicker’s Rhode Island International Film Festival, Atlanta Film Festival, and Woods Hole Film Festival. “You're Not Well is a cautionary tale about the things we turn to for comfort and how easily they can spiral,” she says. “Any of us could be Eileen, mistaking a one-sided relationship for real intimacy, until it costs us what actually matters."
During the pandemic, the film’s writer Bruce Anthony lost a lot of himself in the opinions, anecdotes and personalities of various podcast hosts. Once he emerged from the fog, he realised what those parasocial relationships were doing, which inspired the script.
It stars London Thor (Gen V, The Boys), who is joined by Vince Eisenson (Billions), Jake Phillips (A Beautiful Distraction) and Thursday Farrar (Verity, Manifest).
