EXCLUSIVE: Watch ‘Twain’, the new short by writer-director Pip, featuring rising star Éanna Hardwicke and produced by Daisy Edgar-Jones

Twain tells the story of two identical twin brothers primarily through conversation in a prison visiting booth and intermittent flashbacks that slowly form a traumatic life story survived through their bond.

"I've always found the dynamic between brothers fascinating," says writer-director Pip of his debut short. "The love is always there, but the means to communicate it often isn't. Particularly lads from working-class backgrounds. Twain is my exploration of a complex fraternal relationship and the bounds of that bond."

Pip is a self-taught portrait and fine art photographer from northern England whose work has appeared in Vogue, GQ, Vanity Fair and The Hollywood Reporter.

Starring BAFTA-nominee Éanna Hardwicke (Normal People, The Sixth Commandment, Vivarium), as both brothers) the film also features Toni O'Rourke (God's Own Creatures), Frank Blake (Normal People), and newcomers Jacob & Jaxon Nolan.

Twain has picked up awards including Best Actor for Hardwicke at the British Short Film Awards, Best Short Film at the British Independent Film Festival, and Best Screenplay at the Cine International Film Festival, alongside selections at Aesthetica and Santa Barbara International Film Festival.

This also marks the producing debut of Daisy Edgar-Jones (Normal People, Where the Crawdads Sing) through Hundred Fires, a company she co-founded with Pip in 2024. Co-producing with her are Tom Allen, Benjamin Jacob Smith, and Sylvie Briggs.
