EXCLUSIVE: Teaser released for ‘Pour Me’, the new short by Jesse Lewis-Reece, starring Shaun Thomas

Pour Me, writer-director Jesse Lewis-Reece’s latest short, follows Oliver (Shaun Thomas) at the pub on the anniversary of a pivotal moment in his life. Sober and emotionally shut down, Oliver is confronted by familiar faces and the inevitable pull of nostalgia. As drinks begin to flow, the atmosphere shifts, and Oliver's buried emotions start to surface, leading to a powerful unravelling of his inner turmoil.

“In this country, drinking isn’t just a pastime - it’s practically a language. It’s how we blow off steam, how we celebrate, how we mark the end of a long week. And in that, there’s beauty, chaos, and often, something deeper going on beneath the surface. Pour Me is about that. About the unspoken stuff - the weight some people carry into the pub with them, and how easily it can get buried under rounds and noise and bravado. It’s funny, painful, messy and recognisable. And for me, it’s personal,” says Lewis-Reece.

The film is produced by Corin Taylor of Blink Productions and BAFTA-nominated Exec Producer Ash Horne, co-founder of award-winning creative studio CantSee and former Creative Director at Oscar-winning Slick Films.

Part of the seed of the idea was to make a film that, whilst staying grounded in reality, tips the anxiety of losing control over alcohol into an almost behemoth psychological horror. We used cinematic tools like photography, sound and music to push the viewer into that intense headspace whilst also showing them something completely familiar. That was the core experiment of the film: asking what that internal shift actually looks like,” says Lewis-Reece.
